Understanding the threat posed by vaccine hesitancy, how vaccines work, how they are developed, vaccine preventable diseases and their epidemiology, best practices and legal issues in vaccination are some of the topics that will be addressed in the course.

The rising cases of health worker and community vaccine hesitancy, adverse events following immunizations, anti-vaccine sentiments, and resurgence of diseases like measles have all increased need for more advocacy and training on better standardized immunization practices and response. This training equips participants to be advocates/champions for immunization in their localities.

Educational Design & Selection of Participants

The course will target a maximum of 100 participants. A downloadable formal application form above once completed should be send to the course administrator, explaining why the course is beneficial to them, and attach your brief one-page CV. Previous courses have on average admitted 60 – 70 participants, but now overwhelmed by large numbers of applicants and an ever-increasing waiting list from previous applicants who could not attend the course, the organizing committee has decided to increase the number of selected participants to 100. A selection committee comprising the coordinators and course administrator will vet the applications and select 100 participants for the course (where 50 – 60 will be on the zoom online platform and 40 -50 will attend the physical in-session face to face sessions).
